Music as in times of Solomo
Noone could have guessed that Matthew Halls filled in on such short notice for Martin Haselböck to conduct the Wiener Akademie and the energetic Chorus sine nomine. Indeed, there certainly have been far less homogenous productions. And while we were left wishing for the blaze that the chorus of priests was singing about in the first act – which sounded somewhat too well-behaved – the second act immersed us into very lively and passionate music. That is what it must have sounded like at Salomo’s court.
